Lazuli – Stary Manez

Well, usually I don’t write a separate article for the support band, but this time I found Lazuli so good that I thought they deserved their own article.

They are French, from South of France, the Gard region, and they exist for a while now, post 2000. They play progressive rock with world and electro music and obviously they are well known in Poland as the club was nearly totally packed for them. That also is a sign of a very good support band. Usually people don’t show up so early.

The band is composed of Dominique Leonetti, Claude Leonetti, Gédéric Byar, Romain Thorel & Vincent Barnavol. One particularity of this band is the unique instrument Claude Leonetti plays, the Leode. A multi-instrument, a mix of guitar and a synth. Very recognizable and definitively one of the signature of their music, with Dominique’s voice as well.

They totally put the place on fire. The audience was cheering, applauding and even singing once. Which was surprising as Lazuli is singing only in French. And the band knows how to win the audience, Dominique Leonetti was speaking to them in Polish. They loved it.

Lazuli was the very good start of a great evening.
