Soundrive 2015 – B90

3 days of good alternative music in one of the best club in Poland with bands from New Zealand to Florida, through Poland & England. A mix of Rock, Electro, Indie and Pop music. 3 stages & 30 bands, the main stage for the international bands and the small stage for the polish ones. The third one, the Redbull stage was for… well, a completely different experience.

We Shoot Music was there and will tell you everything about these 3 very intense days full of nice discoveries.

Day One – Thursday 3rd of September

Let’s start the evening on Main Stage with one of the most energetic concert of the day, Brad Breeding, an enraged quartet with a punk attitude from the British town of Stevenage. It was just the best band to photograph during these three days. Very lively with an anger that is just obvious. A typical Punk band from the 80’s.

They were followed by East Indian Youth, whom for me was the biggest & nicest discovery of the festival. An exciting Electro Pop/Rock that was just captivating to see live. It started quite smoothly but after few minutes it just went wild, hypnotizing. Can’t wait to see him again.

Then came Drenge and Glass Animals. Nice Indie bands that finished the evening on the main stage with a perfect manner. My preference went nevertheless to Drenge, more rock, more punk, louder, better, faster.

There was nothing better to do than to attend the concerts at the Small Stage to see the diversity and vitality of the Indie Polish musical scene during these three days. Starting Thursday with the Indie-Rock of 30daysofline, we were then heading to the nice Indie-Pop of Wilga, a little Electro, Hip-Hop & R&B with Małe Miasta, and we ended this evening of polish discoveries with the great show of We Draw A. I definitively recommend this last band from Wrocław.

Day Two – Friday 4th of September

A quiet day both in term of discoveries and in “sound intensity”. On the Big Stage, Thomston, All We Are, Hundred Waters & Temples. Meanwhile on the Small Stage Oslo Kill City, Coals, Call The Sun, Baasch.

Of all the bands playing that day, I really liked Call The Sun. It’s a quartet from… Well, Poland. A nice Indie Alternative band with a unique sound in the Polish musical scene. They are quite young and could soon become internationally known.

Day Three – Saturday 5th of September

Back to normal on Saturday with some great shows on both stages.

Let’s start with the small one and MIN-t [Martyna Kubicz] & Pola Rise. A lot of people around me told me that Pola Rise was good. So I really was looking forward seeing them, and they didn’t disappoint me. Great concert. Electro, with a touch of Bjorginess. They often went crazy on stage. Someone to follow.

MIN-t was a real surprise. Again some Electro [a mix of Dance House and Ambiant]. I also really loved it.

Now Let’s back on the Big Stage with Indie music. I think it was the first time in my life that the screams coming from the fans took over the music from the bands. It was for the last band – Peace – a quartet from Birmingham that plays a Melodic Indie Rock with some hints of Post-Punk and Pop. They totally set the place on fire, even before they showed up. The fans went crazy and were screaming as loud as they could. At least the first 2-3 rows. Impressive. Best way to finish a festival with some kick ass concert.

Peace was great, but I think The Wytches were even better. A Punk Rock, Garage Rock, Psychedelic Rock, Post Grunge, U.K. three-based band.
