For the 12th edition of the tattoo konwent in Gdansk, over 4,000 visitors, nearly 350 tattoo artists, 496 tattoos entered for the contests & 24 prizes were awarded in 8 thematic categories.
Adding to that numerous attractions, and you get the best tattoo konwent to have ever taken place in Gdansk!
What a journey since their beginnings in the old shipyards of Gdansk! Now the event take place all over Poland, 7 towns, and over 27.000 visitors. Thanks, being tattooed is more and more accepted in society, and people are more and more tattooed. You can find so many amazing artists nowadays, that it’s not getting that easy to choose which one!
I saw so many great tattoo artists with really different style, that if I could, I would just ask everyone of them to tattoo me.
The art piece that impressed me the most was that tattoo – on the left – by Nixon Tattoo in Gdansk. Made me have an idea of having Totoro with that style.
Or the mangas-like pieces made by Bankai Tattoo in Gliwice. Really nice & impressive stuff. Which also gave me few ideas for the future.
This year, we had wrestling, that was new, and quite entertaining. Of course, we all know it’s fake, but still, when a guy that weight 100kg jump on you, it must still be a bit tough!
And last concert of the weekend was Schizma, which deserved a separate article on our webzine.
