Swedish melodic death metal band In Flames have just released a new live video for their song “In The Dark“. This release follows their 2023 album, “Foregone“, which showcases the band’s blend of melodic intensity and metallic aggression.
In Flames‘ journey began in the early 1990s in Gothenburg, Sweden, where their groundbreaking albums, “Lunar Strain” (1994) and “The Jester Race” (1996), didn’t just write their own history – they laid the foundation for an entirely new genre: melodic death metal. Their ability to intertwine aggressive metal riffs with haunting melodies set a standard that many bands continue to aspire to.
In the early 2000s, In Flames took a daring turn with “Reroute to Remain” (2002), exploring a modern and alternative sound. This bold shift allowed the band to chart new creative territories while retaining the melodic core and aggression that define their music. From these experiments emerged an expansive repertoire, showcasing their versatility while holding on to the essence of what makes In Flames unforgettable.
Their latest album, “Foregone“, recorded in California, serves as a testament to their legacy. Released in 2023, it features tracks that are both innovative and steeped in their trademark style – memorable melodies coupled with fierce metallic undertones. “In The Dark“, featured in the new live video, exemplifies this balance, proving that In Flames remains as vital and impactful today as ever.
And do not forget that In Flames will be in Gdansk for Mystic Festival 2025!
