2 years ago in B90, I saw Rotting Christ live for the first time, and I was stunned. They played as support band for Moonspell, but last evening, they were the main act in Drizzly Grizzly, a concert added just few weeks ago because, hell, why not?
I don’t think we should introduce them anymore, Rotting Christ are very popular in this genre of metal. No artifice on stage, no make-up, no nothing. Just great music and energy. After more than 30 years, they know how to entertain a crowd, and knowing the history and popularity of Rotting Christ in Poland, they were genuinely happy to be playing there.
They arrived on stage with of Χ Ξ Σ (666). Perfect start of an intense concert with a setlist composed of old classics and newer material. The club was really packed last night for the band. And the synergy between all parties has been pretty amazing.
The evening started with Angrrsth & Nekkrofukk.
Nekkrofuk, or rather WhatTheFukJustHappened? They left the stage after a mere 20 minutes, one by one, surprising everybody, not a single word spoken, just a middle finger raised. Vocals were like a bestial vomiting experience, surrounded by heavy low paced music. And yet, the crowd was headbanging with exaltation.
Angrrsth started their concert earlier than planned. And that is quite the first time I see that. It’s usually the other way around. But they were really good.
