Blondie Announce New Album “High Noon” and Release “Spectral Eyes”

Blondie will release their twelfth studio album, “High Noon”, on 26 February 2027 via BMG. Their first collection of new material in nine years, the record also marks the final recording featuring co founding drummer Clem Burke, who passed away in April 2025.

The band have already shared the first single, “Spectral Eyes”, written by Johnny Marr, who also contributes guitar to the track. Driven by crystalline guitar riffs and a steady beat, the song opens the album and offers the first taste of the new material.

For “High Noon”, Blondie bring together the different influences that have shaped their sound over the decades. Rock and punk meet dance music and Latin rhythms, with contributions from Marr, Glen Matlock, Zach Condon of Beirut, and Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius.

“This album is classic Blondie, an amalgamation of all our different influences and eras into something new”, says Debbie Harry. “This music feels grounded in the present, shaped by who we are and how we’re living now”.

Chris Stein also reflected on the band’s continuing journey: “It’s been a long, strange ride, and somehow here we are with another Blondie album”.

The sessions for “High Noon” began in 2022 in New York City, with producer John Congleton, who previously worked with Blondie on their 2017 album “Pollinator”. Much of the material was recorded with the musicians playing together in the same room. David Wrench later joined the project for additional production and mixing.

The album carries particular significance following Burke‘s death. A founding member whose drumming helped define Blondie‘s sound, he was part of the recording process without knowing it would be his final album with the band. “High Noon” now stands as the latest chapter in a creative partnership that spanned decades.

The tracklist also includes “Heartbreak Kid”, written by Stein with Johnny Thunders in mind, and “Sleepwalking”, penned by Matlock. “Man Who Had No Face”, written by Stein and Harry, features pulsating keyboards and electric guitar. The band also revisit “Little Metal Drummer”, originally recorded by Blondie keyboardist Jimmy Destri for his solo debut, “Heart On A Wall”.

The album’s visual identity comes from artist and director Rob Roth, who has collaborated with Blondie for more than 25 years. His work on “High Noon” combines cinematic imagery and analogue textures with contemporary references. An upcoming short film directed by Roth will feature music from the album.

More than five decades after emerging from New York City’s downtown scene, Blondie remain one of the defining names in modern popular music. Moving between punk, new wave, disco, pop and hip hop, the band helped push those sounds into new territory while building a legacy that extends into fashion, film and visual art.

Their achievements include more than 40 million albums sold worldwide, two UK number one albums and six UK number one singles. In 2006, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

“High Noon” arrives on 26 February 2027 via BMG, available on CD and black vinyl, with limited edition crystal clear ecovinyl, red vinyl and cassette editions also planned.
