Ando San Releases Drumline Driven New Single “March for Me”

Los Angeles artist Ando San is back with “March For Me”, a new single released via Sumerian Records that brings a militant edge to his distinctive blend of hip hop and progressive metal.

A rapper, producer and seven string guitarist, Ando San has spent his career building a sound that refuses to stay in one lane. Known for combining intricate guitar work with sharp flows and heavy hip hop production, he operates somewhere between progressive metal and rap, a territory he has helped define as prog hop.

“March For Me” takes that approach in a more forceful direction. Inspired by the militant atmosphere of Tyler, The Creator’s album “Chromakopia”, the track explores themes of self determination, personal growth and artistic freedom. For Ando San, it is about taking ownership of his future and becoming the artist he wants to be.

“March For Me is a reclamation song for me”, he explains. “It’s about me rising to where I need to be, and my destiny as an artist to grow and be truthfully and authentically myself“.

The single also marks another step in his growing relationship with Sumerian Records, following the double A side release of “Hype Man” and “Triggas”. His music has attracted praise from guitar virtuosos Joe Satriani and Andy McKee, while his ability to deliver complex riffs and rapid fire lyrics simultaneously has helped establish his reputation as an artist who can bridge two very different musical worlds.

His latest release has already secured a place in ESPN’s College Football coverage soundtrack for the season, bringing his genre bending sound to an audience well beyond the usual metal and hip hop circles.

On the live front, Ando San has just wrapped up a UK tour supporting Don Broco, followed by his debut London headline show. He is now heading back to the United States for a run of dates with progressive metal heavyweights Periphery.

With “March For Me”, Ando San continues to push his own boundaries, proving that technical guitar playing and hip hop do not have to exist in separate worlds. Sometimes, all it takes is a drumline and the determination to march to your own beat.
