Mikromusic Shines at Stary Maneż with Emotional New Material

Mikromusic, formed in 2002 by Natalia Grosiak and Dawid Korbaczyński, has carved out a unique space in the Polish music scene by blending elements of jazz, trip-hop, pop, and folk into a distinctive and emotionally resonant sound. Over the years, they’ve cultivated a loyal following thanks to their poetic lyrics, sophisticated compositions, and deeply affecting performances. Their discography features standout albums such as SennikPiękny koniecTak mi się nie chce, and Kraksa – each a testament to their artistic evolution.

On Saturday evening, April 26, 2025, the band took the stage at Stary Maneż in Gdańsk as part of their concert tour promoting their latest album, “Nie Umiem Tańczyć” (I Can’t Dance), released in January.

During the show, Mikromusic performed a selection of tracks from the new album, including: “Wkurzasz Mnie” (You Annoy Me), “Nie Biłeś Się Nigdy o Mnie” (You Never Fought for Me), “Czułość” (Tenderness) and “Jestem Rzeką” (I Am the River), performed with the guest vocal ensemble Laboratorium Pieśni.

I Am the River” is a powerful and moving track inspired by the 2022 ecological disaster on the Oder River, where pollution led to the mass death of fish and widespread environmental concern. The song is part of the Flows for the Oder campaign, which seeks to grant the river legal personhood in Poland—a cause that aligns with the band’s deep sensitivity to nature and the world around them.

The concert at Stary Maneż was a truly special experience. New material was seamlessly woven together with beloved older hits, creating an unforgettable evening filled with joy, reflection, and emotional connection.

As a photographer, I had the chance to witness the audience’s reactions up close – people were visibly moved, singing along, dancing, and smiling through tears. It was a concert that touched the soul, and I’m genuinely grateful to have been there.

From the bottom of my heart, I recommend catching Mikromusic live or diving into their latest album. For anyone who appreciates heartfelt stories sung with an angelic voice, their music is not to be missed.
