Luxtorpeda in Drizzly Grizzly For A Great Night of Rock Music

Last evening in Drizzly Grizzly, Luxtorpeda once more delivered an unforgettable performance, attracting a lively and diverse crowd. They are known for their powerful rock sound and socially conscious lyrics, and once again, the band did not disappoint, creating a high-energy atmosphere that captivated everyone in attendance — including a noticeable number of younger fans.

Since its formation in 2010, Luxtorpeda has become a staple of the Polish rock scene. Led by the charismatic guitarist and vocalist Robert “Litza” Friedrich, the band has built a reputation for their punk-inspired, no-nonsense rock, always laced with a social message. Alongside “Litza” are his talented bandmates: Tomasz “Krzyżyk” Krzyżaniak pounding the drums, Robert “Drężmak” Drężek shredding on guitar, Krzysztof “Hans” Fryderyk holding down both vocals and bass, and Przemysław “Dzwon” Frencel on additional bass duties. Together, they create a sound that’s unmistakably Luxtorpeda.

The Gdańsk gig was a highlight of their ongoing tour, following the release of their 2022 album, “Omega“. The album, with its 90s flair, explores issues of social injustice and personal challenges, staying true to Luxtorpeda’s blend of heavy riffs and meaningful lyrics. Last night’s setlist was a perfect mix – tracks like “Autystyczny” or “Wilki Dwa” brought the house down.

Luxtorpeda’s live shows are something special, and this one was no exception. They thrive on raw, unfiltered energy, feeding off the audience and throwing it right back at them. In Drizzly Grizzly, they turned a typical concert into a shared experience and there was even a bit of playful banter with the band that made it feel like a gathering of friends rather than just a gig.

What truly sets Luxtorpeda apart is their wide appeal. Despite their intense sound, there’s a surprising warmth in their shows, making them accessible for everyone, from old time rockers to families with kids. It was clear last night as young children sat on their fathers’ shoulders, soaking in the powerful messages alongside the pounding beats. The mix of generations at Drizzly Grizzly was a testament to the band’s ability to connect with listeners, no matter their age.

It was a great a show as usual. And everytime they come to Tricity, I’m eager to see them for what would always be a really enjoyable night of rock music.
