The Cure New Album Launch Show on BBC

Fans of The Cure are in for a rare experience, as the band prepares to unveil two exclusive live performances later this month. The iconic group will take the stage at the BBC Radio Theatre in London for intimate sessions set to be broadcast on both BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Radio 2. These shows will not only feature the band’s classic hits but also debut tracks from their much-anticipated album “Songs of a Lost World“. Robert Smith, the band’s legendary frontman, emphasized the uniqueness of the events, stating, “It’s not often we perform such intimate shows, so we’re really looking forward to this, and to sharing more tracks from the new album for the first time on 6 Music and Radio 2“.

The first of these special performances, dubbed “6 Music Session: The Cure Live“, will be aired on October 31st during Huw Stephens’ show. In addition to the live set, fans can look forward to an interview with Robert Smith and an exclusive debut of their new single “Alone“, which marked the band’s first new release in over a decade. The excitement continues with a performance for Radio 2 In Concert on October 30th, where a limited audience of just 550 attendees will witness the band up close. Jo Whiley, host of the show, expressed her enthusiasm, calling The Cure her “first music obsession” and lauding their influence on generations of musicians.

These highly anticipated performances will also be available on BBC iPlayer, giving fans even more ways to experience the live magic. In addition, BBC Two will air a special compilation of The Cure’s past performances on November 2nd, showcasing the enduring legacy of one of the UK’s most celebrated bands. Fans are eagerly awaiting these broadcasts, which offer a chance to not only relive classic hits but also hear brand-new material from the band that has shaped the alternative rock scene for decades.
