Ukrainian stoner rock giants Stoned Jesus will return to Poland in May 2025 for two special concerts, marking their 15th anniversary in style. Fans in the north of the country will have a chance to experience their hypnotic sound on May 28 at Drizzly Grizzly in Gdańsk, while the following day, they will take the stage at Transformator in Wrocław, joined by Finnish psychedelic explorers Polymoon.
Formed in Kyiv in 2009, Stoned Jesus quickly became a major force in the stoner/doom scene, but their music has always been about more than just heavy riffs and slow, sludgy grooves. Their breakthrough album, “Seven Thunders Roar” (2012), cemented their reputation, with the track “I’m the Mountain” becoming one of the most iconic songs in the genre. However, stopping at just this one record would be a mistake – the band, led by Igor Sydorenko, has never been one to repeat itself. Each new album brings bold experiments, proving that Stoned Jesus is constantly evolving, pushing beyond the boundaries of classic doom and stoner rock.
In Wrocław, Stoned Jesus will be joined by Polymoon, a band that represents a different but equally mesmerizing musical universe. Hailing from Tampere, Finland, they mix psychedelic rock, progressive sounds, and shoegaze textures, creating an atmospheric and hypnotic experience. Their debut album, “Caterpillars of Creation” (2020), released by Svart Records, received critical acclaim for its dreamlike, expansive sounds. After a successful tour promoting the album, Polymoon signed with Robotor Records in 2021, further solidifying their presence in the European rock scene.
The Gdańsk show at Drizzly Grizzly promises to be a unique event for fans of heavy, mind-expanding music. Stoned Jesus, with their rich history and constantly evolving sound, will deliver a set that spans their 15-year journey, while Polymoon’s cosmic atmosphere in Wrocław will complement the experience with a different kind of musical trip.
With two anniversary shows on Polish soil, Stoned Jesus once again proves their deep connection with the country’s rock audience.
