Last evening was the first time Róża played their brand new album Bu! live in front of a crowd. The first song of their album, “Oczy“, won the nationwide Songwriting Competition.
The atmosphere was very intimate in Spatif and in perfect adequacy with their style of music.
Róża is a trio consisting of Małgorzata Penkalla, Szymon Lechowicz and Kamil Hordyniec. The creators are known from the groups Enchanted Hunters, Sorja Morja and Wilga, they live and work in Warsaw. The group debuted in April 2021 with the post-punk song “Oczy” produced together with Paweł Krawczyk from Hey.
The album includes eight original compositions, combining the sound of American indie rock, British post-punk, synth pop and alternative r’n’b.
The title “Bu!” is the cry of someone who jumps out of nowhere – a bit offensive, a bit infantile, it suited us for the debut situation. It is also our attempt to defend ourselves against ubiquitous violence by taking on the intimidation gesture and making it something familiar and funny,
