I first saw Rodrigo y Gabriela more than twenty years ago, in a small church in Killarney, Ireland. I was standing less than two metres away from them, close enough to properly watch what their hands were doing.

And honestly, I thought their fingers were made of rubber.

I had never seen anyone play acoustic guitars like that. The speed was ridiculous, but it was not simply about playing fast. They were hitting the bodies of the guitars, creating percussion, changing rhythms and somehow making two acoustic instruments sound much bigger than the room they were playing in.

A lot has happened since that night in Killarney.

Rodrigo y Gabriela have gone from playing small venues and building their audience through relentless live performances to becoming one of the most internationally recognised guitar duos around. Their music brings together flamenco, Latin rhythms, rock, jazz and the influence of the heavy metal they grew up playing in Mexico.

Now they are coming back to Poland. On 21 April 2027, Rodrigo y Gabriela will play Zaklęte Rewiry in Wrocław, with the concert starting at 20:00. The Polish run currently includes two dates, with Warsaw’s Progresja hosting them on 20 April before the Wrocław show the following evening.
