UK nu-metal quartet Profiler are coming out swinging today, dropping their new EP “Masquerading” and marking the occasion with a fresh video for “Illusion“. This is a total statement: EP out today, video streaming now, and the band clearly know exactly what they’re trying to say with it.
“Illusion“ is where they lay their cards on the table. Profiler describe the track as being about the infatuation of relationships and the attachment of ego, digging into how our desires and attachments can create real suffering in human experience. No vague vibes, no hiding behind imagery, they’re spelling out that emotional chaos and then soundtracking it with something deliberately fast paced, in your face and heavy hitting. According to the band, they’re “super excited” to finally get this one out.
“Masquerading” is already pulling serious attention. The EP has picked up a wealth of support, including spins on BBC Radio 1’s Rock Show with Dan Carter and Future Artists with Sian El. That kind of backing doesn’t land by accident; it usually means a band are hitting the right nerve at the right time. Profiler are clearly positioning themselves as one of the rising names in the UK nu-metal revival and today feels like a proper milestone in that climb.
If you want to dive in, “Illusion” is streaming now, “Masquerading” is out in full. For now, know this: Profiler have just planted a big, jagged flag in the ground, and they’re not pretending to be anything other than loud, direct and ready for more.
