Pidżama Porno to Play in B90, Gdańsk

Location: B90, Gdańsk

1987 – Two university students in Poznań Krzysztof Grabowski and Andrzej Kozakiewicz start a band

Two years later, they record “Ulice Jak Stygmaty” and play the Jarocin Festival. For anyone who knows what Jarocin meant in communist Poland, the dust, the chaos – the sense that something real was happening – that debut says everything. Then they go to Czechoslovakia. First Polish underground band to do it.

What follows is a career that refuses easy summary. Breakups and returns. Side projects. An anti-racist anthem – “Antifa” – that becomes a rallying cry for Polish youth. A record called “Futurista“, made in 1990 with a then-unknown vocalist named Kasia Nosowska singing backing vocals, that doesn’t get an official release until 1996 – and still lands like a revelation. Eight studio albums. Thousands of concerts. A band that keeps quitting and keeps coming back.

In 2019, after fifteen years without a proper studio record, they release “Sprzedawca Jutra“. New material. Real songs. Proof that the thing still works.

Then, November 2023. A new album. Titled simply “PP“. Ten songs. Under forty minutes. No long explanations, no press release philosophy. Just the band, back in the room, making the kind of record that doesn’t need justification.

March 14, they bring it to Gdańsk. B90. One night.

Over 260,000 monthly listeners on Spotify – not bad for a punk-ska band that started before the internet existed. But numbers don’t really explain Pidżama Porno. What explains them is a room full of people who know every word, and a band that still means it.
