Body Count

Formed in 1990 by Ice-T, Body Count is a dynamic force in heavy music, seamlessly blending metal’s raw vigor with socially conscious lyrics. Their 1992 debut album, especially the track “Body Count” fearlessly addressed police brutality, racism, and social injustice, sparking controversy but achieving critical and commercial success. Throughout their career, the band has consistently delivered hard-hitting music that confronts societal issues like poverty and political corruption with raw honesty.

Body Count has not only made a significant impact on the metal scene but has also contributed to diversifying it, breaking down traditional genre barriers. Their influence extends beyond music, credited with raising awareness of social issues and inspiring activism. As a fan, I’m particularly excited about Body Count‘s upcoming performance at Mystic. I eagerly anticipate experiencing their unapologetic brand of heavy metal and the powerful messages they bring to the stage.
