Myles Kennedy, the renowned frontman of Alter Bridge and collaborator with Slash, has just released his third solo album, “The Art of Letting Go“, on October 11, 2024. This album is a showcase of Kennedy’s evolution, blending his powerful vocals with raw guitar riffs and introspective lyrics. It has been praised for balancing technical proficiency with deep emotional expression, offering both rock songs and haunting ballads.
“The Art of Letting Go” reflects a more mature Kennedy, exploring themes of emotional resilience, personal growth, and the act of releasing past burdens. Tracks like “The Art of Letting Go” and “Saving Face” stand out for their energetic riffs, while songs like “Eternal Lullaby” explores the pain of loss, with lyrics that touch on grief and healing. Critics have noted that “The Art of Letting Go” blends the powerful rock elements Kennedy is known for with a fresh sense of introspection and vulnerability.
A Tour to Celebrate the Release
To coincide with the release of “The Art of Letting Go”, Kennedy will be hitting the road for an extensive tour. Starting in October 2024, he and his trio will embark on a European tour featuring support from Black River Delta and Cardinal Black. This will include 20 newly added dates across major European cities. Fans in the UK can look forward to a 6-date run in November and December 2024, with special guest Devin Townsend.
Following the European leg, the band will bring the tour to North America in January and February 2025, where they will be joined by special guest Tim Montana. This series of live performances will give fans a chance to experience Kennedy’s latest work up close and personal. More details on all shows, including ticket links and VIP packages, can be found on his official website – Myles Kennedy | Official Website
Critics have responded positively to the album, with Kerrang! calling it Kennedy’s “best solo album yet”, while Louder Sound highlighted how Kennedy’s ability to craft both “colossal choruses” and tender, emotionally charged moments makes the album stand out.
There’s a clear sense of Kennedy fully embracing his own artistic voice, stepping out from the shadow of his previous work with Alter Bridge and Slash to deliver something uniquely his own.
“The Art of Letting Go” is not only a musical evolution but also an emotional journey, and it stands as a testament to Myles Kennedy’s enduring relevance in the rock world.
