Fifteen years in, Kalandra are not looking back nostalgically. They are leaning forward, louder, broader, and absolutely unafraid of scale. Their new live album “Live In London”, out on 27/02/2026 via By Norse Music, documents a sold out night at Lafayette and captures a band fully aware of its own talent.
In this new setting, “Segla” sheds its studio intimacy and grows into something heavier, broader, and unmistakably physical. The reflective core remains, but on stage the song expands, breathing with the room and feeding off the audience. The band describe it as a special moment, a sold out London show in the middle of a long European tour, charged by an audience fully locked in. That energy is all over this recording, and it gives the track a new kind of weight.
We saw Kalandra in 2024 opening for Heilung, and even then they felt like a band already pushing beyond the limits of a support slot. That feeling only deepened with the release of “A Frame Of Mind”, a record that sharpened their identity and sense of scale. What you hear on “Live In London” is the continuation of that arc, a band fully aware of its power in a live environment.
For many listeners, Kalandra first came to wider attention in 2020 with their debut album “The Line”, a record that introduced their immersive Nordic music to an international audience. Since then, major festival appearances and extensive touring across Europe and Australia have steadily built their reputation, not through hype, but through consistency and atmosphere. Earlier releases like “Beneath The Breaking Waves” laid the groundwork, but the stage is where everything now locks into place.
The year 2026 marks fifteen years of music, growth, and creative evolution for the band. The anniversary will be celebrated not only with “Live In London”, but also with their biggest Norwegian headline show to date at Rockefeller on 18/02/2026. The show will feature Sylvaine as a special guest, with IBEN supporting, alongside guest musicians and a setlist spanning the band’s entire career. A limited number of physical vinyl copies of “Live In London” will be available exclusively at the Oslo show.
This release is not a retrospective. It is a statement of where Kalandra stand right now. “Segla” in its live form makes that clear, a song reborn through volume, space, and shared breath. “Live In London” captures a band mid ascent, confident, expansive, and finally letting the songs take up all the room they deserve.
