Apocalyptica’s coming to Mystic Festival has been eagerly anticipated, especially after their sold-out performances in Kraków and Warsaw earlier this week. Fans who caught them live at B90 in Gdańsk in March 2023 will know exactly what to expect – an inspiring show that blends classical mastery with metal fury. Their journey has been remarkable, and their connection with Polish fans runs deep. Known for their unique ability to fuse classical music with metal, Apocalyptica recently revisited their roots with their album “Plays Metallica, Vol. 2“, featuring the likes of James Hetfield, Robert Trujillo, and Dave Lombardo. What started in 1993 as a group of Sibelius Academy students playing Metallica covers on cellos has since evolved into a global phenomenon. Their next stop? The Mystic Festival stage.
But Apocalyptica is just the beginning. The legendary Beherit, who have shaped the extreme metal underground since the early ’90s, will be making their first-ever appearance in Poland. After decades of near-invisibility, including a 30-year hiatus from live performances, Beherit shocked fans by returning to the stage in 2024. Known for their pioneering mix of raw black metal and eerie electronic experimentation, their live shows remain a rare, must-see event. With cult albums like “Drawing Down the Moon” and the more recent “Bardo Exist“, Beherit is sure to deliver an unforgettable experience.
Oranssi Pazuzu, another exciting addition to the 2025 lineup, is celebrated for their genre-defying approach to black metal. Fusing psychedelic rock and krautrock with an avant-garde sensibility, the band continually pushes the boundaries of what metal can be. Their latest release, “Muuntautuja“, has already been hailed as one of the year’s best albums, and their upcoming performance at Mystic Festival promises to be a journey through the darkest corners of the metal universe.
Finally, Archgoat will bring their brand of unholy devastation to the festival. Since their 1993 release of the infamous “Angelcunt (Tales of Desecration)” EP, Archgoat has carved out a reputation as one of the most uncompromising acts in the blackened death metal scene. Their relentless sonic assault has only grown more intense over the years, and their upcoming set is sure to be an infernal experience.
With these four powerhouses confirmed, the 2025 edition of Mystic Festival is already shaping up to be an unforgettable event. Metalheads, mark your calendars – 2025 is going to be monumental!
