On October 30th, my favorite band from Trójmiasto, Chrust, performed their concert “Chrustowe Dziady” at Peron 5. I absolutely adore this band—their music and performances make me feel more alive, and my blood runs faster with every note. I had been eagerly waiting for this concert, as the last time I saw them was during the show promoting the release of their second album Przed Zmierzchem. The show was supported by Zosia Jelonek, a young and incredibly talented artist, who presented her own original songs, both lyrics and music. This was her second time supporting Chrust, and as she mentioned, she has been a devoted fan, attending countless of their concerts.
Chrust delivered a powerful set, performing tracks from both of their albums, including “Tempo”, the song that represented Poland in this year’s Eurovision selections. Their music is a unique blend of intensity and emotion, and their performances are full of incredible energy, not only within the band but also in their connection with the audience. It’s far from a one-sided act, it’s a constant exchange of energy between the stage and the fans.
During the concert, Zosia Jelonek joined the band on stage to perform “Zapiera mi Dech” from Chrust’s second album “Przed Zmierzchem“, originally sung as a duet with Joanna Jabłczyńska.
Another memorable moment was when Karol Konop swapped places on stage with Gosia Oleszczuk, picked up a ukulele, and performed “Róża” from the same album, originally recorded with Czesław Mozil. The audience was invited to join in, creating an interactive and energetic experience.
The concert concluded with “Hen za Rzeką”, the song where it all began, bringing the evening full circle and leaving the audience energized and deeply moved.
If you haven’t heard Chrust yet, I highly recommend checking out their profiles on social media and supporting the band if you enjoy their music, you won’t regret it!
