Christine Plays Viola Release Video For “At Last, I Found You”

I always like to add a little bit of darkwave to my playlist, and Christine Plays Viola made it today. For me, “At Last, I Found You” is a very good example of what darkwave can do. It has that mysterious side, with that slightly typically cold & melancholic atmosphere that makes you want to put the track on repeat. This is the side of darkwave I really enjoy. Nothing to explain, I just feel it.

Hailing from Abruzzo, Italy, Christine Plays Viola have been shaping their particular brand of darkwave and post punk since 2008. Over the years, they have built a strong reputation far beyond Italy, playing extensively across Europe and sharing stages with names including Clan Of Xymox, And Also The Trees, Pink Turns Blue, She Past Away, Chameleons Vox, Modern English and The Mary Onettes.

Their debut album, “Innocent Awareness”, arrived in 2011 through German label AF Music and quickly found an audience within the European darkwave scene. The album was picked up by DJs in dark clubs across Europe and was even included in Mick Mercer’s Top 30 releases of 2011.

Since then, the band have continued to evolve through releases including “Vacua”, a concept album inspired by Francisco Goya’s Black Paintings, “Spooky Obsessions”, and “Fading”, which brought a more intimate and occasionally acoustic character to their sound without abandoning the darkness that has defined them from the beginning.

They have also made appearances at major events including Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig, while their touring history has taken them through Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, England, Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Poland.

Now Christine Plays Viola are back with the official video for “At Last, I Found You (Fear Increases Violent Emotions)”, the latest chapter connected to their album “F.I.V.E. Fear Increases Violent Emotions”.

Released in July 2026, the track was written during the sessions for the album and now gets its own visual treatment.

So yes, I’m adding another little piece of darkness to the We Shoot Music playlist. It’s the kind of darkness that lifts the spirit. You get to live another day.

The official video for “At Last, I Found You” is out now.
