Bright Ophidia Announces Long-Awaited Fifth Studio Album!

Polish progressive metal juggernaut Bright Ophidia is back! After more than seven years, the band is set to release their highly anticipated fifth studio album, marking a new chapter in their genre-blending legacy. Known for their unique fusion of alternative metal and progressive metal, Bright Ophidia has consistently pushed the boundaries of heavy music, crafting intricate and powerful soundscapes that captivate listeners seeking something beyond the ordinary.

Since their formation in 1998, Bright Ophidia has built an impressive discography, including the critically acclaimed albums: “Coma” (2003), “Red Riot” (2004), “Set Your Madness Free” (2009), “Fighting The Gravity” (2017) and several demos and singles.

Bright Ophidia has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the metal world, performing at renowned festivals such as Prog in Park (alongside Dream Theater, Haken, and Opeth), Metalmania, and Hunterfest. They have also toured with legendary acts like Decapitated, Kat & Roman Kostrzewski, Luxtorpeda, and Adrenaline Mob, proving their prowess in both festival and club settings.

The band’s forthcoming album, recorded at Lagrunge Studio (Cochise, Kraków Street Band), promises to deliver a fresh yet unmistakably Bright Ophidia experience. Mixing was handled by Krzysztof Murawski, while Richard Addison at TrilliumSound Mastering Studio (Erimha, Sons of Arrakis, Lüger) provided the final mastering touches. Accompanying the album is striking artwork by Mayeranec.

To add even more depth, the album features several guest musicians, bringing new textures and dynamics to the band’s already intricate sound.

This is our return to the stage after several years of “Peace and Quiet“. The album’s lyrics tell the story of various emotional changes that we experience in life. A state of suspension, being in between, discovering ourselves in the eye of a cyclone, a place of apparent peace, around which the destructive element rages. The music refers to these extremes, reaching for both lyrics, vibrations of ethnic instruments and heavy, modern riffs. We are coming back with a new story and new energy!!!

The new album entitled “Quiet and Calm” will be released on March 28, 2025 in cooperation with the Polish label Via Nocturna (pre-order). Over the past few years, the band has released music videos for three singles promoting the upcoming release:
“Anger“, “Survive” and “In Your Eyes“.
