Ankor Announces EU/UK Tour 2025

Today, alternative metal band Ankor release their new EP, “Shoganai“, through UNFD, marking an ambitious continuation of their signature “Darkbeat” saga. Known for their eclectic approach, “Shoganai” brings a fusion of metal with elements that span pop, electronic, and even traditional Japanese influences, reflecting the word “shoganai” – a Japanese term that roughly translates to “it can’t be helped.” With this release, Ankor delves into themes of acceptance, resilience, and the power of letting go.

Alongside the EP, the band premiered a new video for its title track, “Shoganai”, the seventh and final installment in the Darkbeat series. About the video, the band shares:

“’Shoganai’ is the seventh and last chapter of the Darkbeat saga. A song to which we tried to add elements that make it different from the others. Probably the least commercial of the chapters, but we’re sure it will be the favorite of many. Thank you for accompanying us on this journey and for joining the family.”

This closing chapter to Darkbeat ties together years of stylistic evolution and experimentation for Ankor. The EP is crafted as a journey through complex states of mind, unfolding in seven unique “chapters” that are each accompanied by their own visual narratives.

As Ankor explains, Shoganai “is a journey through different states of mind that we wanted to represent in seven chapters and seven visual stories. Mixing genres, styles and sounds, we’ve shown the evolution of the band, which has led us to take our music to thousands of new listeners around the globe.”

Ankor’s Shoganai EP is designed not only as a musical work but as an immersive experience, inviting fans to explore its themes and genres. With this release, Ankor is appealing to fans worldwide who are ready to “rediscover metal music like you’ve never done before.”
